Station Box Station Image For continuous 24/7 monitoring we can supply a security enclosure with solar power and a remote access option.  The security enclosure is specially modified for use with our seismographs.  Since external power if often needed, we also supply a solar panel with sufficient capacity for the desired setup.  Remote access options include a cellular modem with IP or dial-up service or a dial-up satellite modem.  This configuration allows you to easily access your data while never having to leave the office.
    Features

  • Tamper Resistant Locks
  • Vented/Screened Enclosure
  • Portable
  • Resistant to Infestation
  • Easy to Install
  • Virtually No Assembly Required
External Printer Printer Image If on-site printouts are needed, the external printer option is ideal.  The printer is self contained and rechargeable.  It is not necessary to have the printer out in the environment with the seismograph.  It has been our experience that repairs to printing seismographs most often involve the printer.  Removing the printer from the environment solves many of these problems.  Another benefit is the price.  A Mini-Seis with an external printer will likely cost much less than a printing seismograph.
Cellular Modem Modem Image We resell the Airlink Raven XT cellular modem.  This modem allows remote access to your seismograph data anywhere the appropriate data service is available.  We work closely with a Verizon reseller and can easily help you setup an appropriate telemetry data plan.

We prefer to setup our modems with a static IP.  This allows us to use the Seismograph Data Analysis software to contact the modem by simply providing the IP address and modem port number.  After that we can download data, change setup parameters and perform any other tasks as if the seismograph was right there with us.
Satellite Modem Remote data access will be most economical with a cellular modem.  However, cellular data services are not available in some areas.  In these cases we offer a satellite alternative.  While the modem itself is significantly more expensive than a cellular modem, the monthly service cost is not much higher.

Another issue is that connectivity is only available when there is a satellite overhead.  This means that multiple connection attempts may be required.
Solar Panel A remote access station will normally need a power source.  A solar panel is a common solution.  White can provide the appropriate panel size for the parameters.  If remote access is not needed, a 10 watt panel may be sufficient.  A cellular or satellite setup may require a 20 to 40 watt panel.  It is common to use a 12V deep cycle battery as a storage medium.  For this reason we also supply a voltage regulator so that the battery is not overloaded.
