How do I clear the memory?

Clearing the memory is a 2 step process.

Hold down the + key and press and release the RESET key.  Do not release the + key. The instrument will reset and in a few moments the display will show TO ERASE MEMORY USE SELECT FUNCTION.  At this point press SHIFT and + together and release. You should see the message CLEARING MEMORY.
