What is waveform mode?
Waveform mode is normally used to record transient short duration events like those generated from blasting.  In waveform mode seismic and acoustic trigger thresholds are set.  When a trigger occurs, the instrument activates and records for a specified length of time called the duration.  It then shuts down and waits for the next trigger.

Waveform mode is often not used to record semi-continuous or continuous vibration because there is a limited amount of memory.  However, it may be used in these cases to obtain representative vibration samples.
